RPRP AI is gone. What was once an accessible space for AI roleplay has quietly disappeared : no farewell post, no explanation. Just a vague message where a working product used to be.
If you’ve been following the NSFW AI industry, you’ve probably seen this before : a site slowly stops being maintained, support goes quiet, and then one day it’s just not there anymore. RPRP AI’s shutdown is a reminder of how fragile these platforms can be, and how hard it is for users to protect what they’ve built when a service suddenly stops.
We will break down in this article what RPRP was, how it went down, what we can (and can’t) confirm about the reasons for now, and what you should do if you still have an account.

What was RPRP ?
RPRP AI (rprp.ai) was a US-based NSFW AI roleplay and companion platform that launched in September 2024. It positioned itself as a private, judgment-free space for adult users to create and interact with AI characters.
What happened to RPRP.AI ?
The shutdown didn’t happen overnight. It was a slow fade that most users only noticed in hindsight.
End of 2025
Starting in late 2025, the site became unresponsive at times, was no longer properly maintained, and customer service stopped being reachable. No announcement was made.
On November 6, 2025, RPRP AI’s X account (@rprp_ai) posted its final update : a simple link to an article on their Medium blog. After that, the account went completely silent. No posts, no replies, no announcements.
Checking the site’s Wayback Machine archives from this period reveals another detail : the Discord invite link that was embedded on the website had expired. We don’t know what happened to the channel itself : it could have been deleted, archived, or simply left to decay, but it was no longer accessible from the site.
The confirmation (January 2026)
The shutdown became visible on January 17, 2026 (based on wayback machine). From that date onward, visiting their site displayed the following message:
Service Temporarily Unavailable
Due to a business adjustment, this website is currently paused. We appreciate your support and time with us.
At this moment, we are unable to confirm whether the service will resume.
If you have any problem, please contact us at [email protected].
Thank you for your understanding.

The message only cited a “business adjustment” as the reason, listed a Gmail address for contact, and did not mention a timeline, data export, or refund policy.
Today (September 2026)
As of today, the domain is set to expire. It has not been renewed, and there is no indication it will be. The site remains unavailable. The X account is still silent. The Medium article from November 2025 remains the last public communication from the team.

Our team reached out to their public email service to request an explanation. As of this writing, we have received no response.
Why it has shutdown
Here’s the uncomfortable truth : nobody knows for certain.
The “business adjustment” language in the shutdown message is deliberately vague. It could mean anything from a pivot to a bankruptcy. What we can say is this :
The most likely explanation is that the business was not profitable enough to sustain operations. Running an AI chat platform is expensive. Every message costs money in inference (GPU compute), and the more popular your platform becomes, the more you spend. If revenue from subscriptions doesn’t outpace those costs, you’re bleeding money with every user.
This is a supposition, not a confirmed fact. We cannot verify RPRP AI’s financials, and the team has not provided any explanation. We’re stating this as the most probable scenario based on what we know about how these platforms operate, not as a confirmed reason.
It’s also worth noting the broader context : the NSFW AI space is under increasing pressure from payment processors and regulators. Whether RPRP couldn’t regulate and faced similar pressure is unknown, but the pattern is real across the industry.
How to contact them
Even though the platform is down, you may still have a legitimate reason to reach out. If you had a paid account, stored character data, or personal information on the platform, you have rights.
Their public contact address is : [email protected]
You can use it to:
- Request access to your data (character definitions, chat history, generated images)
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Request correction of any data they hold
- Ask about refunds for unused subscription periods
Keep in mind : given that the domain is set to expire and the team has not responded to our own inquiries, there is no guarantee you’ll get a reply.
Caution about potential copies
When a platform like this shuts down, fake copies and impersonation sites tend to appear. You may encounter :
- Clones of the same interface hosted on different domains
- Sites claiming to be the “new” or “relocated” version
- Pop-ups or ads redirecting you to “alternatives” that are actually data-harvesting traps
- Scam sites asking you to “recover your account” by entering credentials or payment info
The original site is down. It has not revived. There is no “new RPRP AI.” If you see a site claiming to be RPRP AI under a different URL, treat it as suspicious at minimum.
Do not enter personal information, login credentials, or payment details on any site that you do not trust. Do your due diligence before.
What now ?
RPRP AI was a place where people spent time, built characters, and had conversations they cared about. That’s gone now, and there’s no clear path to getting it back.
If you still want to chat with AI characters for NSFW themes, we’ve put together a list of characters across different kinks and fetishes, hosted on platforms we consider reliable. You can start your journey on our homepage.
And whatever platform you end up on : keep a local copy of anything that matters to you. It’s the only protection you really have.
